With a new thought on urban action, which recovers rurality as a socio-cultural, urban and environmental laboratory capable of responding to the great challenges of the ongoing transitions, this is how TOPSCAPE opens issue 57, addressing the theme of the identity landscape in peri-urban territories often victims of a misleading narrative, proposing a reading that, on the contrary, exalts its cultural, environmental and community potential.

Themes that once again place the tools of landscape architecture as indispensable processes of care. As in the case of the ALER Towers project, public housing on the outskirts of Milan whose happy ending story is tangible today, in the flourishing summer courgettes or in the ripe tomatoes that the inhabitants happily pick, on the rooftop gardens available to the community.

Topscape 57 hosts Green Kilometer, a project by Ghisellini Architetti for a new contemporary urban park of 9,000 square meters in Mulazzano, a municipality in the province of Lodi.
