On the evening of Wednesday 16 April 2025, at the Sala Agostiniani in Polesella (Rovigo), SPONGE POP, the project by GHISELLINI ARCHITETTI for the sports citadel of the Venetian municipality in the heart of the Polesine area, was officially presented to the public.
In the presence of Mayor Emanuele Ferrarese, Regional Councillor Cristiano Corazzari, the President of the Order of Architects of the Province of Rovigo Alessandra Avezzù and the representatives for the Sports Associations, Tomas Ghisellini illustrated the vision for the redevelopment and enhancement of the municipal sports sector, spread over a surface area of ​​over 40,000 square meters.

The intervention was introduced by the critical contribution “Places beyond space” by architect Michele Ronconi: a reflection on the idea of ​​public space as an emotional, sentimental and psychological construct before being physical.
